To become a regular member, you must make and log 5 contacts with any 1010 member. Of these 5, 2 must be Channel Islands Instant Qualifiers...ex CIC IQ-102. The log should include the call sign, 10-10 number, first name, date of contact, and state, including 2 Instant Qualifier numbers. 1010 numbers must be in 1010 order, ascending. To obtain a lifetime membership, and CIC Number and Friendship Certificate send $5.00 for US and Canadian, $8.00 for "DX", proof of your current 1010 membership, and your logs, to:

Once the basic certificate is obtained, Upgrades Stickers are available (SASE, please) for each 25 contacts (including the original ones). To simplify our paperwork, the upgrades are based on contacts rather points. 25 contacts for the first award, then 25 more new contacts including the first 25 to total 50 for the second award, and so on as required. Progressive. Their can be no duplicate contacts anywhere in Award Applications, beginning with your first qso to your last. Contacts for awards start counting only from the date and after you join CIC; except for the 1st 5 cts for the Friendship Award.
Our Award Certificates are based on the 8 Channel Islands that are located off the coast of Southern California. (Actually some are visable across from Oxnard.) Pictures of these Channel Islands were hand painted by our own artist, Dave Hivner(SK), KE6RQQ. I then scan them into the Certificates. They are in color and look real nice.
When you upgrade, you have the choice of just an "Upgrade Sticker Only" (sase) or both the Upgrade Sticker and a Color Award Certificate. Each Award Certificate is $2.00 & and 2 first class stamps. Award Applications are sent with the Membership Packet when you join the Chapter and are available upon request. You must check the "Upgrade Only box for an Upgrade Sticker Only. and include a self-addressed stamped envelope, your logs in 10-10nr order, ascending, proof of current 10x membership dues, and Award Application.
Our net times are 1800Z to 2000Z and 0200Z to 0400Z every Wednesday The frequency for both nets is 28.340 MHz. Net control is MAC K6VMN
We are a young Chapter, sanctioned Dec 5, 1996. Our CIC numbers are low ones but we are having a great time making QSO'S worldwide. We have 10 members in Germany alone. Please join us for a round table net and exchange 10-10 numbers. I hope to talk with you on the air soon.
